Overview
With this lesson you will learn how to use your pitch control to keep a song with different tempos on beat with a second track. Some live songs are not exactly the same BPM all the way through. Unlike most electronic music today, many types of music had a live drummer so BPM's may change depending on the flow of the song. That may present an unexpected problem while you are mixing unless you know how to fix it. This lesson will help you practice using the pitch control to keep both of your tracks on beat.
Instructions
*Track 3 on CD1 is the steady track that does not change BPM’s.
Play Track 3 on CD1
Cue up Track 3 on CD2.
Begin the mix.
After a minute you will notice the beats will be off.
Use your pitch control on CD2 to get the beats to match. Depending on your equipment you may want to use your finger slightly speed up or slow down the CD player. Which ever way is best for you to control your equipment is best to practice with.
This exercise will help you be better at mastering the pitch control of your equipment while mixing live or in your headphones.
